Guafo Island serves as refuge, resting, foraging and reproduction site for more than 13 species of marine mammals, including many endangered or threatened species such as blue whales, Orcas and marine otters.
Several of these species have been recorded in high numbers and we look further to keep monitoring their presence and test several hypothesis that help us to understand why Guafo Island serves as refuge for these species and how important is this site for their conservation.
