Mauricio Seguel, DVM, PhD, DACVP

I'm a veterinary pathologist and wildlife scientist currently working at The Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Canada. My main areas of research are the pathology and immunology of wildlife diseases.
I have worked for more than 10 years at Guafo Island studying the diseases of invasive species and South American fur seals.

I'm a marine biologist and researcher at Universidad Andres Bello, Santiago de Chile. I have worked on the population biology of microalgae and marine mammals.
My current project at Guafo Island seeks to characterize and measure the level of macro and microplastic pollution in this ecosystem as well as the potential effects on the health of  marine vertebrates

I'm a marine biologist and doctor in science that have worked since 2003 at Guafo Island studying the reproductive and trophic ecology  of South American fur seals.
Currently I work as assistant professor at Universidad Santo Tomas, Osorno, Chile.

I'm an historian and documentalist who has conducted several historical investigations on the social bonds of Chiloe inhabitants with Guafo Island.
​ I have also created several documentaries that show cultural and natural aspects of Guafo Island.

My main areas of interest are anesthesia, disease ecology and population genetics. My master’s project at Guafo Island looked at genetically characterize Guafo’s population and assess its association with the severity of hookworm infection.
I’m a wildlife vet and a researcher currently working on my PhD in Ecology and Evolution at Universidad Austral de Chile. I’ve worked at Guafo for four years.

I'm a marine biologist working as private consultant. I developed  my undergrad thesis at Guafo Island, on a project related to how environmental factors affect the development of social and diving skills on South American fur seal pups​

I'm a veterinarian and master on business administration candidate. I have worked in Guafo Island for several years collaborating on projects related to fur seals health and environmental conservation.
Currently I'm based at Valdivia, Chile were I have developed several ecoturism projects.

I'm a wildlife veterinarian currently working at California Wildlife Center. My main areas of interest include marine mammal medicine and conservation. I have collaborated with Guafo Island researchers on fur seal captures, anesthesia and population health research.
